What is Fantails?
If you've got young girls looking to give football a go in a fun and safe environment, Fantails is the programme for you!
Fantails is a programme designed for female players aged 4–12 years old to learn the beautiful game through sessions focused on helping girls make friends, having fun, improving their skills and being active through football.
-
Description
Players play at their home club, and join a football festival every three weeks with other clubs. This is a playful environment that emphasises self-discovery. This continuity into early engagement develops crucial factors for the future of the players such as the love for the game, game intelligence and physical literacy. Trainings and game days in the home club will be in a circuit environment with many fun, exciting activities to keep kids learning and thinking.Running Dates

Description
Coaches will receive coaching education and support from grade coordinators and junior convenor. Players play in increasing number groups (5v5; 7v7; 9v9) and are beginning to focus on technical and tactical learning with their coach. They will have 1 training and 1 game each week. These are the "skill-hungry" years. Motivationally, children are geared to learn skills at this time, providing an ideal opportunity for building football-specific skills into fundamental movement abilities.Running Dates

Where possible we will aim to retain existing players in their existing team. The exceptions will be where teams move from
5-a-side to 7-a-side games (i.e. from Under 8 grade to Under 9 grade),
7-a-side to 9-a-side games (i.e. from Under 10 grade to Under 11 grade) or
9-a-side to 11-a-side games (i.e. from Under 12 grade to Under 13 grade).
As teams transition to Under 9, Under 11 and Under 13 grades, squad sizes need to be larger so some shuffling of players is inevitable.
For those older players who are aged 14 or older on January 1 this year, they also have the opportunity to play in the Under 17 league for one of our Seatoun AFC teams. This league has Sunday morning games which allow players the freedom to play football (or any other sport) for their college on a Saturday and play Under 17 football for Seatoun AFC on a Sunday.
