A club with history

Providing for the future.

“We won the national knockout Chatham Cup in 1957 and 1958. Our 1958 win, a 7-1 win over Christchurch City, remains the highest score by any team in a Chatham Cup final.”

Seatoun AFC has a place for everyone to play football - from young to old, and all skill levels, we have a place for all to enjoy the game.

Our Holiday Programmes, First Kicks Programme, Fun Football and Fantails provide our junior players opportunities to have fun playing football all year round.

Our Men's teams play across Capital Premier and Capital leagues, and our Women's sides in Division 3, Division 1 and Central League. We also have Masters teams in the Masters 2 and Over 45’s divisions.

About the club

Seatoun AFC is a football club in New Zealand, based in the Wellington suburb of Seatoun. One of the strongest clubs in the country during the 1950s, it won the national knockout Chatham Cup in 1957 and 1958. Their 1958 win, a 7-1 win over Christchurch City, remains the highest score by any team in a Chatham Cup final (equalled in 1989 by Christchurch United).

Seatoun Association Football Club has provided football for men, women and juniors for over 100 years. The club was established in 1909 and celebrated its centenary in 2009.  Seatoun has produced 11 All Whites.

The women’s side of the club has a rich history as well. In 1975 Margaret Johnson and Lana Duckett formed our first women’s team after becoming frustrated at the lack of opportunities. Since that first formation, our central league team has won the women’s central league (named W-League since 2017) four times, in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2015.
